POPPED Music Festival 2011 Arrives!
POPPED! Music festival is hosting an outdoors 2 day event in Philadelphia on September 23rd and 24th and it looks to be a unique experience for the city itself. Though hometown heroes, The Roots have put on their Family Picnic shows at Penn’s Landing, POPPED! will be held at FDR Park, right near the major sports complexes. Local Philly establishments will also be bringing their flavors to the site via truck! It won’t be quite like Reading Terminal Market but thats ok. You’ll still get to sample some great foods including sweets and vegetarian fare (the last truck on the list below is sure to draw some chuckles as well as become a photo attraction).
POPPED! has a great eclectic lineup sure to draw a crowd. An appearance from the band The Shins makes you wonder what they have been up to lately. Pretty Lights have been touring hard this summer and so have this summer’s “IT” band, Foster the People. Mates of State are also there, so expect some new tunes as they release their new album soon. Plus you’ll finally get to see what all the buzz behind Kreayshawn has been about. You can even expect some comedians though the lineup has not yet been announced.
