MTV announced the nominees, including Justin Timberlake, Flying Lotus, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and more, for their Video Music Awards being held in Brooklyn.

Today, MTV has announced the nominees for the Video Music Awards being held August 25th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Artists like fun., Janelle Monae, Kendrick Lamar are all included but the heavyweights are Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis with six nominations each.

For Video of the Year, the nominees include: Justin Timberlake - “Mirrors”; Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Wanz - “Thrift Shop”; Bruno Mars - “Locked Out of Heaven”; Robin Thicke feat. T.I. and Pharrell - “Blurred Lines”; Taylor Swift - “I Knew You Were Trouble”.

But you can view the full list of nominees in all 15 categories over at MTV.com. Now we wait to see who the performers will be.

In recognition of the Brooklyn location, MTV has given the Moonman Award a facelift by Brooklyn artist KAWS, the new version of which you can see in the banner. KAWS gained more prominence last year in NYC primarily due to fact that many people had to ask, “what character is that?” when his Companion balloon floated down 5th Avenue in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. That’s a picture of it below these nominated videos from JT and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.
