Angela Easterling – “Common Law Wife” (video) (premiere)

Americana singer-songwriter Angela Easterling released her latest album Common Law Wife earlier this past summer, and now she’s put together a wonderful little video for the equally charming title track from the record.

“‘Common Law Wife’ is basically telling the recent events of my life,” she says. “I was a happily single gal, in pursuit of my music dreams; when I fell in love with the fellow I had hired to play guitar in my band, then (surprise!) found myself in the ‘family way’. It turned our whole lives upside-down, but wound up being the best thing that could have happened to us and we’re just having fun and celebrating that in the song and video.

“The video was shot on my family’s farm, where we live. The land goes back in my family to 1791 and it is a huge part of my life and writing, so it is great to be able to share it with the public. We thought of a Hee Haw throwback — setting the band up on bales of hay in the barn — but this is our actual hay barn, so those bales aren’t props. They’ll be fed to the cows this winter!”
