Goodbye Tomorrow: Goodbye Tomorrow

This three-song EP shows Goodbye Tomorrow in the same vein as Angels & Airwaves, especially on the gentle and atmospheric “Tragedienne”, with Travis Bryant’s pipes fuelling the larger, meatier chorus. Judging by the tune, you can see how they would compare favorably to Tom DeLonge’s new ensemble, particularly with the slow-building, tension brimming, and somewhat Cure-ish “Carouseling” that picks up slowly but steadily during the chorus. And the concluding tune, “A Vespertine Haunting”, brings to mind groups like Keane at their most tender, or Canadian band Pilate. It’s another slow and thoughtful tune that strolls along with a slightly off-kilter arrangement. An impressive offering, but again it’s only three tunes.
