The death of your father is something all of us have to face, but this fact doesn’t make that inevitable event any easier to deal with when it arrives. Some of us fall victim to our indulgent fancies or vices, while others fall in a dark pit of despair for years on end, if not permanently. Lucky for himself and us, Harri Kakoulli has brought back something from the darkness for the benefit and joy of all. As the original bassist for Squeeze, it’s humbling to see Harri honor his dad’s memory with an EP of world influenced dub downtempo and electronica that surprisingly hits par with the majority of the stellar Six Degrees catalogue. His inspiration is tangible throughout this five track online exclusive EP. Though Bliss Like Gold ain’t exactly the next level shit, hippy head shops always need new tunes, and it’s nice when they strike a chord a little deeper than kittens and blunts. What else can you say but condolences and props?
