onDeadWaves – “Comfortably Numb” (Dusk Version) (Premiere)

onDeadWaves cover of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb" is an attentive take on the classic song.

UK based onDeadWaves is the musical project of James Chapman (Maps) and Polly Scattergood. The duo released their debut album of dreamy rock (onDeadWaves) earlier this year on Mute. Subsequently the band found themselves with some spare time and a lot of caffeine on a late night where they recorded their take on Pink Floyd’s classic “Comfortably Numb”.

As onDeadWaves stated, “We recorded this late one night in the studio in the countryside, where we had recorded our [self-titled] debut album. We started quite late, and didn’t stop the session to sleep, we just drank coffee and continued recording until the morning. We didn’t really talk about it much until after we had recorded it, but the song resonated with us both for various reasons on a very deep and personal level. It was a very intense recording session. We both slept for about 12 hours the following day.”
