New York band Stalkers are a good, gritty garage rock band that cut through their title track with a Strokes-ian vivacity. And for the listener, this album is rough enough to ensure that what you would hear in a live setting is the same on this record, something that isn’t always an easy thing to capture. Stalkers tear through each track without any pauses, particularly on the airtight “Sun’s Coming Up”. Fans of The New York Dolls, The Ramones or early albums by The Mooney Suzuki will lap up “Circus Baby” and the party starting “Let’s Get It Together” with its Kinks feel. The high-octane rock though sometimes peters out during the barebones rock of “I’m Feeling Alright” and the ballsy “I Couldn’t Wait Tto Get Home”. Stalkers also give another douse of great rock and roll during “Blame Game” and the fist-pumping, foot-stomping “Silver Blood”.
