It's rare to get a complete audio/visual package in an album, but San Francisco artist Christopher Willits has done just that with Opening.

San Francisco artist Christopher Willits has outdone both himself and many of his contemporaries with Opening, his recently released audio/visual album. Not only did he write a seven-song album, but he also put together a stunning 45-minute visual accompaniment for the music. Says Willits of the artwork, “For years, I’ve imagined the work I do in music, photography, video/film, immersive audio and meditation all coming into one space.” With Opening he has achieved that union quite impressively.

Canadian reggae-rockers MAGIC! bring their loosey-goosey energy to the Wal-Mart Soundcheck stage, performing several cuts from their new album Don't Kill the Magic.

The easy-breezy guitar strums and the party-ready mood of MAGIC!‘s music brings to mind a stiff pina colada served on an island resort somewhere in the Bahamas. The all-caps, exclamation-punctuated name of the band itself suggests that you might be partying in those tropical environs. Yet, curiously enough, MAGIC! hails not from humid, palm tree-lined climates but instead the much chillier Canada, much further north of the equator than one might expect for this kind of music.

Leading up to his Reddit AMA on Tuesday, September 9th, Bob Mould has released his latest music video from Beauty & Ruin, "The War".

In his 9 out of 10 review of Bob Mould’s Beauty & Ruin, Arnold Pan writes, “Beauty & Ruin as a whole communicates everything that needs to be about what’s happening in the present for Bob Mould, as his vaunted past can be seen as setting the stage for what he’s doing now and into the future, no longer overshadowing or haunting it.”
