While the show proclaimed itself, “ladies’ night”, more noticeable was the theme of robots, metallic fabrics, and the future. The Black Eyed Peas performed “Imma Be” and “I’ve Got a Feeling” with dancers dressed as speakers, Beyonce’s dancers resembled Robocop. Even the head of the recording academy referred to the future in his annual overwrought speech to the public.

In my earlier post I highlighted what seemed to be a free online shooter that turned out to be less than a full game. Little did I know that there was such a game out there already that has been around since last year. If you weren’t already aware, video game developer DICE (in conjunction with EA Games) is out there with Battlefield Heroes, which is a cartoony version of their main franchise. Battlefield Heroes is played on your browser and you will not spend a dollar unless you end up falling for the silly things you can buy with real money in the BF Store.

Why not cash in on the current sexy mythical monster craze that is going on at the moment and incorporate a new night-time Vampires Vs. Werewolves mode to three of the maps in the game.  Well, that is just what they did and it lasts for the next month, Check out the trailer below and play the game yourself at

FaltyDL topped our Best Electronic Music list of 2009 with the Planet Mu release Love Is a Liability and London’s the xx topped our best debuts list for the year. So, what a delicious pairing this is, FaltyDL remixing the xx’s “Islands”, one of the finest tunes on their initial public offering.

I don’t know about you but the thought of a console quality first person shooter that is free to the public and played on any browser sounds too good to be true. Check out the trailer for new game by Zero Point Software for a game that boast just that.

Turns out the trailer is just for the training portion of the game which is called Bullseye. It may be a little misleading as the only free part is this first portion as far as I can tell. Also, the game does not seem to have a solid release date yet and advertises the option to pre-order the game. I tried it and it went pretty smooth, all I had to do was download and install a plug-in called the Unity Web Player for my browser. Go to to try the game.

Back in 2008, Matthew Fiander said of Phylactery Factory: “Casey Dienel assembles a full band and releases an intricate and beautiful record that trumps her solid solo debut in every way.” Kairos‘s “Icarus” has an electronic warmth, a direction she explores Dienel on the upcoming album.
