Wallpaper already remixed Passion Pit’s “Sleepyhead” (included below) and now they’ve tackled another tune, “The Reeling”. Producer Eric Frederic explains, “the song has fantastic call and response vocals with a children’s choir. When I heard that, I felt that an Afrobeat rendition of the song was the only option.” Upcoming Wallpaper tour dates are listed below as well.

Nine is Chicago director Rob Marshall’s eagerly awaited musical version of the classic Federico Fellini film . The Weinstein Company is releasing the flick into theatres on November 25th around the time of year people start looking in earnest for classy art films. The stellar cast will bolster that prestige. Check out this line-up: Daniel Day-Lewis, Judi Dench, Penélope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson, Marion Cotillard, and Sophia Loren.

   

Miranda Lambert is a huge favorite around these parts and we are eagerly awaiting her new album in the fall. Back in 2007, Lambert appeared at #2 on our year-end list of the best albums of the year and last year she answered our 20 Questions. Lambert’s new single is “Dead Flowers” and she recently performed it on the ACM awards show.

Faux Hoax is an indie rock collaborative project with Danny Seim (Menomena), Dave Allen (Gang of Four), John Askew (Tracker), as well as Joe Haege of 31Knots and Adam Gnade of Asthmatic Kitty. Polyvinyl is releasing the debut EP Your Friends Will Carry You Home next week on 19 May and are offering up a free track.

Back in 1972, the London Symphony Orchestra recorded a live version of the Who’s Tommy over two nights at London’s Rainbow Theatre. Many special guests appeared, including most naturally Who lead singer Roger Daltrey. This version of Tommy is being reissued on 26 May by Ode Records and here’s a sample.
