You often can’t tell a lot from three songs, but Brooklyn, New York, outfit Pretty Flowers are able to make the most of their time, albeit with a rather low sound quality that diminishes songs like “Riot”. The group sounds like a power pop band mixed with a gritty garage rock pedigree on the opening track. But “Knife Fight” is a tepid and average track that doesn’t really overly impress. Again, the sound mix is quite poor as the power and intensity is basically lost. “I’ve Got Your Love” is by far the most polished and near-perfect of the trio of tunes, with a punk-ish quality complementing the power pop feeling. Not a lot to get excited about, but it still has a couple of moments. Hopefully the sound quality on future albums is much better.
