Yusuf Osman: Osman was born and raised in Leicester, England, but has lived internationally, in Dubai, Malawi and Karachi. Blaming his geekiness on a reclusive childhood, he now relishes in the many pleasures that being a geek involves; hopefully including international acclaim through his writings on PopMatters. Currently Yusuf lives in London, where he is studying toward a law degree as well as working as a professor’s assistant at The London School of Economics. He also works as a professor’s assistant, at the Centre for Analysis of Social Exclusion (CASE), also at the LSE.
Kimberly Springer: Springer is an academic specializing in cultural studies, social movements, feminist theory, media studies, and harebrained ‘exit strategies’ in the American Studies Department at King’s College London. With a doctorate in women’s studies, her publications include Living for the Revolution: Black Feminist Organizations, Black Feminist Organizations, 1968-1980, Still Lifting, Still Climbing: African American Women’s Contemporary Activism, a column for the cutting-edge young feminist journal Sexing the Political, and articles in academic journals.
