God’s Mercy by Kerstin Ekman
The book moves slowly through the lives of these people in Blackwater, Sweden as they acclimate to an increasingly modern world. The writing is gorgeously evocative of a place many of us will never see.

Like many sequels, it gives you more of the same but you don't mind at all because you enjoyed everything so much the first time around that you didn't really want it to change.
