The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has announced its list of the 25 famous names who’ll get stars on the Walk of Fame next year, and in addition to the usual array of actors (Hugh Jackman, Cameron Diaz, Kyra Sedgwick, Robert Downey Jr., Felicity Huffman and hubby William H. Macy), a token director (hooray for Tim Burton!) and one fictional character (Tinkerbell), there’s a number of pop and rock and soul figures whose names will soon be trampled upon by tourists from all over the world.

Among them: veteran Canadian power-trio Rush, R&B stalwart Babyface, Colombian sexpot Shakira, saxophonist Dave Koz, Motown legends the Miracles (Smokey Robinson already has his star), John Stamos (OK, that doesn’t count ... but he did play with the Beach Boys for a time) ... and the Village People.

But that list got me wondering: What other music stars have received this sidewalk honor?

There’s a complete list at the Chamber of Commerce’s site, including where to find each star. But I just took five minutes to put together an interesting batch:

Alabama, Chicago, Journey, KISS, Liberace, Queen, Sting, Bee Gees, Alice Cooper, Anita Baker, Aretha Franklin, B.B. King, Barry Manilow, Billy Joel, Billy Vera, Bob Seger, Bob Marley, Bonnie Raitt, Britney Spears, the Everly Brothers, Buck Owens, Carlos Santana, Celine Dion, Chuck Berry, Clint Black, David Bowie, Diana Ross, Dionne Warwick, Dolly Parton, Donna Summer, Duran Duran, Dwight Yoakam, Ella Fitzgerald, Elton John, Etta James, Fats Domino, Fleetwood Mac, Garth Brooks, Gene Vincent, George Benson, Gladys Knight, Gloria Estefan, Herbie Hancock, James Brown, Janet Jackson, Jerry Lee Lewis, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, John Fogerty, John Lee Hooker, John Lennon, Johnny Cash, KC & the Sunshine Band, Kenny G, Kenny Loggins, Lionel Richie, Little Richard, Loretta Lynn, Lou Rawls, Luis Miguel, Marvin Gaye, Michael Bolton, Motley Crue, Olivia Newton-John, Ozzy Osbourne, Paula Abdul, Peter Frampton, Phil Collins, Randy Travis, Ray Charles, Reba McEntire, Ritchie Valens, Rod Stewart, Sam Cooke, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, CS&N, EW&F, the Beach Boys, the Beatles, the Carpenters, the Four Tops, the Monkees, the Spinners, the Steve Miller Band, the Temptations, Tina Turner, Tom Jones, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Tony Bennett, Tony Orlando ... and Wayne Newton.
