“Blades of Glory,” a goofball figure-skating comedy starring Will Ferrell and Jon Heder, earned $33 million at the box office, continuing Ferrell’s winning streak with absurd costumes and sports satire.

The weekend’s other breakout hit was the new animated Disney flick “Meet the Robinsons,” a time-travel adventure that earned $25.1 million.
“Blades” puts Ferrell in his most absurd role since “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby” and also brings him back to the scene of his last big score, gently trashing a beloved American spectator sport.
Last summer’s NASCAR comedy earned almost $150 million.
Ferrell and Heder play bitter figure-skating rivals who are forced to team up to enter a pairs competition. The movie has been heavily promoted and got surprisingly good reviews.
After “Blades” and “The Robinsons,” there was a big dropoff to the No. 3 movie, “300.” The Greek warrior epic earned $11.2 million to run its total to $179.6 million and keep it on track for $200 million.
Last week’s No. 1 film, the animated “TMNT,” plunged to fourth place with $9.1 million for fourth place. “Wild Hogs” earned $8.4 million to finish fifth and run its total to $135.3 million.
