Elizabethtown: Widescreen Special Collector’s Edition (2005)

The DVD of Elizabethtown is called the Widescreen Special Collector's Edition, though there's not one thing special about it. [7 February 2006]

Elizabethtown (2005)

Cameron Crowe's Elizabethtown does not know how to end. [14 October 2005]

Vanilla Sky (2001)

Moreover, the film asserts, if you're not careful in your dealings with people, you'll end up with no self and no life, in that big empty Times Square in your head. [13 December 2001]

Almost Famous (2000)

And yet, for a rock 'n' roll film set in the '70s, Almost Famous has surprisingly little sex and drugs on screen (though both are much discussed). Even when two or three of the 'band-aids' decide to deflower William, mainly to alleviate their boredom, it comes off more like a slumber party game than an act of real sexuality. [1 January 1995]

Almost Famous (2000)

Maybe in the deceptive world of fame (or almost-fame), this is the best version of intimacy available, although it's easier to attribute it to the characters' superficiality, and maybe a certain starry-eyed idealism on Cameron Crowe's part.
