Comedian Zach Galifianakis continues to entertain audiences with his quirky, odd sense of humor. Host of the short lived talk show, Late World with Zach, Galifianakis quickly reached fame as a comedian, performing on the Comedians of Comedy tour with Brian Posehn, Patton Oswalt, and Maria Bamford. On March 6, 2007, he released a DVD of his stand-up act, Live at the Purple Onion. Most recently, Zach, along with Will Oldham, filmed a music video for Kanye West’s new song, Can’t Tell Me Nothing.

Mute Records releases the latest single, “You Don’t Know Her Name”, from Map’s debut this Tuesday. It will be a digital EP and include the following B-sides: “Fall Apart”, “Elouise (Six Toes Mix)”, and The Field remix of “You Don’t Know Her Name”.

New York City’s Animal Collective continues to draw fans closer and naysayers further away with their experimental brand of rock. Started in 2000, Animal Collective consists of Avey Tare, Panda Bear, Deakin, and Geologist. In October 2005, they released Feels, an album met with critical acclaim. Animal Collective’s eight full-length album, Strawberry Jam, will be released September, 2007.

Although the upcoming election is far away, the candidates have been campaigning fiercely. It seems as if there is always another debate to help the American public decide between the many candidates. Recently, on July 23, CNN held the “Youtube Debates,” where people recorded questions to ask the candidates. Currently it has only been held for the Democrats, but Monday, September 17, the “Youtube Debates” will be held for the Republicans.
Quite possibly the greatest animated show of all time, The Simpsons has become one of the most popular shows on television. Starting in 1989, The Simpsons began with strong writing and clever storylines, attracting a large audience and becoming one of FOX’s first hits. Unfortunately, as time has passed, the show has declined in quality, losing its once great edge. The Simpsons Movie premieres Friday, July 27, and judging from the trailer, The Simpsons has sunk even lower to a point of no return.
