Hitting the stores in October is this nice-looking behind the scenes film takes a look at Johnson’s 2008 world tour with an accompanying CD of live music. All of the proceeds from the tour and this film project are being donated to Kokua Hawaii Foundation and the Johnson Ohana Family trust, which continues to distribute endowment’s to Jack’s favorite environmental charities…

This new Terry Gilliam film will surely get major play because it features the final performance of Heath Ledger, but that aside, the visual side of the movie looks mind-blowing. Add in Colin Farrell, Johnny Depp and Jude Law stepping in to help out with the lead role (the film had not yet finished shooting when Ledger died) and Tom Waits as the devil and there just might be something worth checking out in there—though it has been a long time since Gilliam directed something great.

Part gritty, working class British kitchen sink drama, part inspirational dance flick? Andrea Arnold (Red Road) took Fish Tank to Cannes this year with mixed results and this lop-sided, over-bearing trailer confirms that the film could either be engaging or terribly cliched.

A-list actors, director and material = the biggest Oscar bait of the year. Could be awesome, could be a mess, but either way the trailer looks intriguing, if a bit too revealing of plot.

I don’t get this one—I daresay the Coens are hit or miss for me.
