Where Gods and Monsters Watch Over Me

[6 September 2007]

by Monte Williams

My DVDs and books and toys are so seductive, and the outside world so unappealing, that it's sometimes all I can do to force myself to walk out the front door every morning.

Ah, what a flashback in time. I always thought the trials of such toys and retreats was an almost Upanishadic purging of the soul. We review our favorites from the past and reforge our identities based on them during times of great change, so that when it’s time we can quit trying to imitate our heroes and become one of them ourselves.

Would it kill ya to make one of those blogs a Live Journal?

Seriously, though, thanks for the comment, and I love your revision of Warhol’s favorite line.
