You Know His Name: A History of James Bond

[27 April 2007]

by Jack Patrick Rodgers

James Bond was the perfect hero for Great Britain of the 1950s, still licking its post-war wounds and eager for a champion who defended old-fashioned values like upper-class snobbery.

James Bond is the Best Spy in the world. No matter what the rivals are, No other spy can do it better. Sean Connery, Roger Moore the seven times Bond are the Best. Daniel Craig will be the third best. James Bond the world favorite spy. He also my favorite.

He matched Connery’s charisma, and even better, he had a murderous glint in his eye that made you take him seriously.

You seem to think that Connery and Craig were the only two Bond actors to have charisma.  If that were so, I would NOT have bothered to watch James Bond movies for the past 34 years.  Gee!  That means that ALL SIX BOND ACTORS must have had some kind of charisma in order for me to maintain an interest in this movie franchise for over three decades.
