Tomás Gutiérrez Alea (Guantanamera, Fresa y chocolate) put out the brilliant Memorias del Subdesarrollo (Memories of Underdevelopment) in 1968. Great call on Ambersons! There is a rumor, though, that it might get released this year. Lets all keep our fingers crossed.
And another that needs to be released ASAP (preferably by the Criterion Co.) is Ingmar Bergman’s Face to Face!
