Unkept Promises: Most Disappointing Films of 2006PopMatters Picks: The Best TV, Film, and DVD of 2006[8 January 2007] by Daynah BurnettPopMatters Picks: The Best TV, Film, and DVD of 2006
If it's easy to get excited about a new film, it's just as easy to feel disenchanted with the results. Looking over 2006, there were lots of unkept promises.
PopMatters Picks: The Best TV, Film, and DVD of 2006
I’ve learned that we all have our own opinions about movies so I try not to let anyone else’s upset me, but to call Superman Returns a disappointment upsets me. Keep in mind I am a huge Superman Fan, so for me it was non-stop entertainment regardless of Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane. I just feel it unfair for it to be considered a disappointment with the huge shoes Brandon Routh had to fill, and he did fill them too.... Comment by Jordan from Hill Air Force Base — January 9, 2007 @ 1:06 am this article was a disappointment. Superman Returns added extra dimension to the well known character of Superman. It did respectfully make reference to the Donner films but altogether it was much different than Donner’s, but without changing too much of what we love about Superman. It was also a good action film, exciting and above classy. Comment by Zachary Fedell from Austin, TX — January 10, 2007 @ 11:34 pm You had me with Clerks 2. And even though I love Borat, I understand where you’re coming from with thte commentary on that film. And I was digging the whole article until you trashed Snakes on a Plane. The whole point of the movie was that it was supposed to be bad. Audiences knew that going in, and we ate it up and had an incredible time at the theater because it was so cheesy and shallow. That was the whole point. There’s nothing wrong with having a fun night at the movies every once in a while. Comment by Chris from Bronx, NY — January 17, 2007 @ 10:27 am PopMatters sponsor

CLERKS II among the most disappointing of the year? Pardon me, Daynah Burnett, but you’re a frakking idiot. Go to the back of the class, please.
