Radiohead's 'In Rainbows' not quite up to the band's standard

Wah wah. You must feel special

Was this review edited? If so, I find that rather shameful, as I would have preferred to read it last week. Beyond that, one might argue that the album you pine for exists on bootlegs and youtube vids, which further supports the premise that you should have published this piece many months ago (seeing as you had access to the material, with or without the band’s official seal). I’m not suggesting you should cater to readers in lieu of living your life, but what is a journo without an audience? (You need us! Be warmer and more organic, already!)

See, I can aknowledge and respect differences of opinion, but it’s hard to read any commentary seriously when it argues so arbitrarily that a piece of music was recorded in the wrong circumstances. Seems to me that those efficacies are invariably at the artist/band’s discretion. There are many who would contend (quite extraneously) that Radiohead would never compromise, even if they found themselves in a label’s pocket. I would trust that assessment because they don’t even have a big bad suit breathing down their necks. He who is independent likely acts independently, type of thing. But what do I know?
