Sony gets ready to introduce pricey PlayTV

According to recent news the PS3 PlayTV add-on will be released the end of March and will cost 99(GBP).

From personal experience of playback of MPEG2 TS video captured from my MythTV Linux box (Three DVD-T tuners) I can say its the best, most crisp quality playback I’ve every seen from TV device.

I’m ultimately hoping that they PlayTV will replace my aging Linux system for recording but I suspect it will take a a good 12-18 months of software updates for that to occur.
