I liked the movie. Maybe the critics did not like it because it is obviously a pro family, pro marriage, pro life movie. It is a good movie - I did not find it confusing. It is interesting. I and all my friends, specially the married and straight ones did enjoy it very much. Comment by Sunny Chermont from Wilton NY — July 27, 2007 @ 9:56 pm I saw the movie last night (a rental) with my husband. Less than halfway through, I lost interest in what the movie is trying so desperately and laborously to say, or not to say, if you listen to the subtext, which is consistent and clear: the wife is unhappy and better off with the cheating husband dead. When it’s finally over, I told my husband this is about a woman’s revenge and he laughed, “you’re reading too much into this, honey.” I thought, maybe, but my story certainly beats this junk. It’s so funny to read your commentary and see my exact thoughts, the nonentity husband, Linda’s “if I let Jim die” question, the ludicrous insertion of the priest, it’s all there in your piece. BTW, you may also add the juicy bits about the life insurance. Seems just perfect, isn’t it? Comment by CK from Reston, VA — August 10, 2007 @ 8:23 am Related articles
