wow. couldn’t agree less with this review. while the admittedly spectacular special effects may have made sections of the film enjoyable enough, the script was awful, the ‘humour’ was puerile, and worst of all there was no logic or coherence to the plot whatsoever. i don’t go into a film about alien robots expecting it to be realistic, but when a plot takes nonsensical turns and is seemingly driven only by the desire to stage large explosive battles it just ruins the experience. better than the island, but that’s not saying much. Review: Transformers (2007)Cynthia Fuchs03.Jul.07 The point here is excess. For 144 minutes, the film pummels and pounds, delivering explosions, combat troops, speeding vehicles, computer codes, giant robots -- and more explosions.

I haven’t seen the film yet, and won’t comment on it right now. However, I’d like to point out that Michael Bay has directed some of the most idiotic, irritating films ever made. It’s insulting for Paul W. S. Anderson, who has made some rather edgy and definitely non-mainstream movies, to be mentioned in the same sentence with the guy.
