After Dark is a slice-of-life snapshot that leaves most of its philosophical inquiries and plotlines unresolved.

I love Murakami. I’ve read most of this work (85&#xis;h). ‘After Dark’ is one of his least enthralling books. If you want to read something by him that is more stylized and fulfilling I recommend ‘A Wild Sheep Chase.’
WARNING: Murakami is addicting.
