As Sean Fine and Andrea Nix Fine's documentary frames it, survival in Uganda's war zones is political and moral, an effort to sort out the frankly unimaginable horrors that have shaped the children's existence.

Interesting stills! The out-of-focus band of bullets shot is especially striking. Are these from the film, or publicity shots? I’ve seen a few more images from this film, and they all seem very symmetrical.

Incidentally, isn’t it interesting that so many films about Africa (and African tragedies) are rendered so colourfully, whereas the majority of representations of European tragedies (Holocaust, Yugoslav violence comes to mind) is black-and-white, or somehow muted with dark blues and greys?

I wonder if that means anything.
