Hardly Apprentices

So far, no celebrity under Trump's caustic scrutiny has managed to remind the über-businessman that he or she has done just fine so far without his input.

Ugh.  What happened to The Apprentice?  At the start, it was legitimized by the fact that these were real businessmen competing for a real job.  Donald Trump was his usual arrogant impulsive self, but it at least seemed like he was trying to make a rational decision about who would make the best candidate.  The focus of the show was on the challenges and the business decisions each side made.

Then by the fourth or fifth season that went out the window.  They stopped competing for a real job, and the prize became ‘You get paid to promote Apprentice for a year’.  Donald Trump stopped being rational and started just automatically firing the losing project leader, and even in season four fired two or three of the best four people in the same show.  This all culminated in the abomination of ‘tent city’ in season six, when the show was clearly no longer about the business decisions and all about the catfights and the drama.

Now he does it with celebrities, most of whom are just ones who are known for being obnoxious?  Didn’t Trump used to at least have the facade of being classy?
