With a website domain name like “Rodeosatellite”, you can probably take a good guess at what The Transmissionary Six brings to the table. Yes, that’s right, spacey alt.country for a start. The dreamy and melodic “Zero Gravity” has a light, airy feeling throughout, sort of like a polished Sparklehorse. Meanwhile “The Dangling Electrified Boy” is a sweet, endearing, Cowboy Junkies-like effort that immediately grabs one’s attention. Just as appealing are more of the pop-oriented tracks like “They Finally Let Me Drive” that recalls a mellow youthful version of Tom Petty. The only flubbed attempt though is during “I Want To Deprogram You”, a song whose title sums up the rather lame arrangement and presentation. The second half comes off as good but a bit disappointing given the quality of the opening songs. Nonetheless, “Your Holland Code” sends off this album strongly.
