ShareThe Record Club, a rotating crew of musicians gathered by Beck to release weekly covers of tracks from classic albums, just put out a video for “Winter Lady”. This iteration of the Club includes Devendra Banhart and MGMT, among others, and the album du jour is Songs of Leonard Cohen.
Once I got past my initial impression of “what have they done to ‘Suzanne’?!”, I found the covers to be at the very least academically interesting, and at times, quite grooving.
