ShareDanger Mouse and the Shins’ James Mercer have teamed up as Broken Bells with a self-titled CD release this week. The boys dropped by Letterman last night to promote the musical partnership.

Considering the caliber of artistry here, some of them are major disappointments, while others were simply predictable, but failed to deliver on the off-chance hope that it could have been better.

Broken Bells may not supersede either Mercer's or Burton's respective main gigs, but as a side project that felt implausible to hit as markedly as it has in the first place, it's a minor victory for both parties involved.
