Underworld’s (Karl Hyde and Rick Smith) last album, Oblivion with Bells, was released in 2007. With their new sixth studio album (as of yet untitled) expected by the end of summer, the duo premiered a new track, “Scribble”, on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show last evening. And they are making a version of it available as a free download from their afterwards (for one week only).
“Scribble” is “described as a gene-splice between Yellow Magic Orchestra and Grooverider blasting out over the dancefloor at Fabric on a Friday night, ‘Scribble’ is a writing and production collaboration with Hospital recording artist High Contrast.” With Hyde’s collaboration with Mark Knight and D. Ramirez, “Downnpipe”, still smoldering in my brain from last September, I am eager for some proper new Underworld.
