After a sold-out event in New York City last July, the New Music Seminar (NMS) returns to Los Angeles one day after the Grammys take over the town. It has expanded to a muti-day conference from February 14 through February 16, 2011, at the Sheraton Universal Hotel. A kickoff red carpet event, The After Grammy Jammy (the NMS Opening Night Party), will be held at the Music Box in Hollywood on Monday night, February 14 with the “Artist on the Verge Finals”. One artist will also walk away with over $50K in promotion and marketing, on Tuesday, February 15 at The Roxy.
This year’s NMS will address both the artists’ dilemma of breaking out from the ever-growing glut of music releases and the development of a new business model for a sustainable music business. The two-day, three-night conference will include a symphony of five “Movements” (focused discussions), presentations from key industry leaders, mentoring sessions, and musical performances. There will be workshops on Rock, Hip Hop, Producers and Songwriting along with ongoing networking opportunities.
