Mazur Winner: There is no doubt in my mind that Kim Stanley gives a bravura performances as a Marilyn Monroe-esque actress. The fact of the matter is that Stanley, often dubbed “The Female Brando” for her immersive Method acting techniques, gives one of the finest performances of the 1950s. No one even comes close to her explosive work this year. The tragic trajectory of this mercurial woman is held together flawlessly by Stanley, usually a very cerebral actress, body and soul. There are no seams.
