Katie Couric Pre-Grammy Lil Wayne Interview Trailer

As much as I’m looking forward to this interview, almost every part of the trailer makes me uncomfortable. Lil Wayne’s delivery is so serious/dramatic that it makes my skin crawl. Sure, it seems like he’s going to talk about some heavy stuff (maybe) but the way he goes about it is completely unnerving. Though I’m excited for the interview, there’s a certain amount of anxiety that goes along with it.

Lil’ Wayne talks out of his a$$. Gangstas don’t ask questions? They ask questions all the time. “You want weed?” “You got my money, ho?” “Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a b*tch?”

Lil wayne was raised up respectful, I went to school with his mother and know her very well. When Lil Wayne say “I’m gangster” what he really means is that he has it all, he’s hot, he’s sharp. He really is giving shout outs that he has made it and now he has the ability to do what he wants because he has the success and money to do whatever he wants.

That’s great that he has it all and can do whatever he wants. There’s no debating that. He’s rich and popular. Woo for him. However, he’s still talking out of his a$$. Everyone asks questions all the time, let alone the man who wrote “Ain’t That a Bitch”, “Watcha Wanna Do”, and “Where You At”. That was really just a way to get out of saying anything controversial while still projecting cool to his fan base. Sarah Palin talked out of her a$$ on Couric too. In my experience, that’s the only way most “successful” people know how to talk.

Did anyone see Katie Couric go on Regis & Kelly and admit that she was ‘scared’ of Lil’ Wayne. See the video here:

“lil wayne is a gangsta your a hatin on him cause you cant be like him and you cant get what he gots.”
Why is it always about the money with mainstream rap fans? You know, it is possible to dislike someone for reasons other than jealousy. You’re a linebacker, Alex. I’m sure you hate plenty of opposing players for reasons other than you can’t get what they gots. Not everyone is Rod Tidwell. What’s more, you have no idea how much money I have, and yet you assume I’m “hatin on him” because I’m poor, so that is a classist remark on your behalf. Bigotry ain’t cool.
“lil wayne is sayin that he doesnt have to get involved in all that crap our country and our world is in now, so he raps about it, he doesnt ask questions.”
No, what he said was music is another form of journalism. Part of journalism, the main part, is asking questions. He then proceeded to talk out of his a$$ - claiming “gangstas don’t axe questions” - to avoid saying anything controversial that might hurt his sales. Read: you have to buy his albums to hear his questions, where they are contained safely away from a major television interview. He’s a successful businessman, a terrible interview, and only in it for the money, as his fans are so quick to point out.
