U2 - “Get on Your Boots” live at the Grammys (video)
U2 trotted out their latest single “Get On Your Boots” last night at the Grammys. In a performance reminiscent of the Manic Street Preachers, they flashed bits of lyrics on the screen behind them evoking the aesthetics of visual propaganda art accompanying music that the Welsh artists excel in. All this was surrounded by their usual brand of anthemic rock.

Funny thing happened on the way to the Grammys via the television. Watched Pre Grammy show on satellite-the clothes are always a big hit with “us” clothesjunkies! First I must say, I am a HUGE U2 fan and was trying to plan our dinner around their performance; so as not to miss it. Looked at the clock (ticktock..ticktock..) and it was like 7 min. after the show was to begin. I was like “what is this about??, the show has started already and the gal falling out of her evening gown that was interviewing people, still has her boob practically in my family room! We switched to the local program and the first mc is about to announce something. We admired her blue gown and it was a nice relief from the gal hangin’ out-actually it was a stunning gown. So we snacked,ate dinner, said goodbye to our company, and continued to watch till the long awaited end. All that time we were thinking maybe U2 will be on next and then it was over. Thought maybe they had to cancell,or didnt want to show up, or like the neverplayed Superbowl commercial;had simply a change in plans..Wake up this morning and no mention of them, no highlights from the debut of new song….and then some talkshow lady on todays morning show has a recap of the opening announcer and there she is saying something to the effect….that was U2 and if I only wore my boots…. So I jump on internet and find U2 singing away….Ahhhh, its the little things in life that perplex me-NOT anyways..Way to go U2 and ofcorse Coldplay and all the other bands last night…..Music,,,food for the Soul
