Morrissey - “I’m Throwing My Arms Around Paris” / “This Charming Man” live (video)

Morrissey continues his promotion of Years of Refusal with a stop at Friday Night with Jonathan Ross last week, performing “I’m Throwing My Arms Around Paris” and a jarringly heavy version of the Smiths’ classic “This Charming Man”. Ross assures the audience that, with song titles like “Black Cloud” and “I’m OK By Myself”, Morrissey fans are sure to love the new album.
Years of Refusal is out now. Here’s the PopMatters review by John Bergstrom.

the best single of 2009 undoubtebly.this single absolutely shines for me, paris is just so melodic and touchingly listenable. real structure, maturity and just doesnt tire. can’t listen to it enough. undescribably tight polished sound. theres more to ‘paris’, he actually means ‘paris hilton’. he is the charming man. i discovered you in prison morrissey, ironically heard ‘there is a light that never goes out’ while serving at hmp lincoln. then i discovered.. yes, the sound i loved so much in the 80’s was indeed ‘morrissey’. mozza is modest, intelligent and know’s how to carry himself. he never slates or diss anyone bcos he doesn’t need to. he’s just mozza.
