Hollywood wants your multimedia rights

Showing an ignorance and shamelessness that the RIAA must envy, Tinsletown is trying to sneak in some Congressional legislation that will punish consumers who don’t use any media technology that they’ve had a buildling full of lawyers approve: Hollywood Pushes Bill To Close Analog Hole.  Basically, they don’t want anyone to use that little analog output on your receiver/stereo/DVD player to hook it into other media devices where you might make copies.  Don’t think that the electronics manufacturers are happy about this or are gonna take this lying down- they’ve been locking horns with the entertainment industry for years now over the idea of copying music (or movies).  As the Analog Hole bill slithers its way into other legislation, rest assured that it will come back like a bad check if it’s chopped out for now.  As such, be vigilent and remind your representative that you’re not buying this.
