Milk and Honey Band: Dog Earned Moonlight
By
Ron Hart 1 October 2009
Milk and Honey’s Dog Eared Moonlight, the second release for XTC frontman Andy Partridge’s Ape House label, is the imprint’s best offering to date. Chief principle and multi-instrumentalist Robert White crafts massive post-Fab Americana melodies primarily as a trio alongside bassist Richard Yale and guitarist Michael Tubb. However, for the excellent Dog Eared Moonlight, Milk and Honey expands its personnel to include keyboardist Dan Burke and drummer Chris Parsons, giving these 10 songs a richly deserved fullness.
