Italy’s Action Dead Mouse brings a mostly instrumental menagerie of rock, punk, classical, and noise to its sophomore effort, The Revenge of Doormats and Coasters, resulting in the sounds of mellow-but-burning metal. Bassist Emanuele Giordano and drummer Luca Bianconi lay down a resounding and heavy-hitting low end. What little vocals there are tend to be shouts and raging cries. Despite the hackneyed titling of “Concerto for One Hand Clapping”, the song builds a sludge of guitars and beats before breaking into simultaneous staccato, speeding the song into a free-flowing-string refrain.
