The second EP from Violet Vector and the Lovely Lovelies is a fuzzy and infectious listen that, as underproduced as it may be, still puts this North Carolina six-piece in a league of its own when it comes to psych-pop. The band gushes harmonies, not the least of which is featured on the brazen-pipe-bomb-of-track “What’s Going on in Your World?” Clearly, this band oozes a good time. Although the its psychedelic influences would lead many to believe that its sound is a meandering one, tracks like “Sunshine in Space” disavow that notion with swift punches. The band’s songs pack a mighty punch that lend to more of a booze-fueled club than to a spaced-out festival.
