Droids Attack

Must Destroy

(Crustacean; US: 9 Feb 2010; UK: Import)

For a band whose primary member runs a full-blown vintage arcade loaded with many of the classic video games many of us aging Gen X-ers were raised on in the late ‘70s/early ‘80s, the name Droids Attack should come as no surprise. But as their monstrous second album so rightfully testifies, this massive Madison, Wisconsin-based group creates a heavy Sabbath-esque dirge more indicative of the dudes in the old Camaro who used to hang out outside of the arcade and throw lit cigarette butts at the geeks emerging from there after spending hours playing Dragon’s Lair. Must Destroy is pure stoner rock bliss for folks who wished Queens of the Stone Age made more records like their first album.
