The caustic beauty of Brooklyn skronk is alive and well in the sound of Little Women. Comprised of saxmen Travis Laplante and Darius Jones, with guitarist Andrew Smiley and drummer Jason Nazary, it might be a bit puzzling to ascertain what exactly possessed a jazz quartet as feral as these cats to name themselves after the beloved Louisa May Alcott novel. But regardless of what they call themselves, it doesn’t alter the effect their alarming full-length debut will have on your senses.
