Born in Brooklyn, this sextet fancies itself one of the true purveyors of roots music––or at least its publicist does. There are nice touches here and there, a track that recalls Waylon Jennings at his peak (“Turn The Lights Off”), a batch of weary tearjerkers (“Heart Worth Breaking”, the glacial power ballad “Annie”), and some faux rock (“Dirt Road”, “Liquor Love”), but nothing that elevates this troupe above the middling line. There are, as they say, moments––“Desperate Amy” comes close to be listenable from first to last but too often interest wanes by the end of the first verse. Not the worst of this lot but also, decidedly, not the best.
