Typically, they are Tipper style breaks producers who make Tipper style breaks, for better or worse. That makes the debut full-length from new signee Seventh Swami that much more awesome. His mastery of form through such a variety of unique soundscapes is truly impressive, utilizing the best of atmospheric breaks, electronic hip-hop, and warped downtempo without appearing to stretch. Bits of traditional Japanese instrumentation occasionally float up through the digital distortion and perfectly tweaked samples. The whole thing is still a hair shy of the upper level where Tipper and edIT live, but its very, very close. He’s one more illusion destroying mushroom experience and another album away from greatness.
