Brian Jonestown Massacre has gone all rootsy on their new EP. Sporting an early Rolling Stones meets Bob Dylan and solo John Lennon on a backporch in a small Southern town vibe, Bringing It All Back Home Again is their rawest, yet most down-home sounding record of their wildly unpredictable career. “Mansion In the Sky” is a dead-ringer for Lennon’s “Working Class Hero,” a good thing in my book. While the 13 minute plus “Arkansas Revisited” is a stoned-out murder ballad with a great bluesy, slacker dobro that conjures up hot days in the deep South.
