Cap Pas Cap is a quirky, angular band along the lines of Dogs Die in Hot Cars but with a bit more of a mainstream touch. The triangle-laced “See and A” and the indie rock, guitar-friendly ditty “No Fun” is actually a lot of fun to listen to with the dual female/male vocalists sharing duties. The band definitely hit paydirt with song three “We Got Stand Tall” which is a seedy garage rocker that shines. Not Not is Fine is divided into “Side One” and “Side Two” as if it was an old vinyl EP. Cap Pas Cap show another side of themselves with the mellow “Said Say It” that bubbles under the surface like an early song by The Cure without never bursting out, just riding a primitive backbeat while changing gears near the homestretch. The five-song effort concludes with “Not Not” that brings to mind The Futureheads.
