Boring band name, boring title, and boring songs that add up to a pretty boring release on the Junk record label. The onslaught of new “rawk” bands is starting to take its toll on the eardrums of listeners, who would rather hear it done right once than multiple times under a bed of lettuce and mediocrity. It makes one yearn for a time before it was so easy to put out a record, when bands worked hard for that loyal following, pressing of a 45, and play on the local AM station.

Believe it or not, it’s increasingly difficult to pull off straight up rock ‘n’ roll these days—take it from Seaweed, one of the few acts out there who still crank out quality rock ‘n’ roll devoid of pretension and phony black jacket imagery. Hell, even a band like Night Ranger could kick these guys’ asses (Just listen to “(You Can Still) Rock in America” from 1983’s Midnight Madness, if you want “loud fast rules!”). The only credit this band receives from this critic is that they name drop Michael Monroe in their liner notes, who apparently provided them with the album’s anthemic title. Which goes to show that you should always listen to your elders.
