Lima Charlie is like the band Phish with goofier lyrics. I don’t know where they sell the band’s recent album (not on Amazon), but I do think one should come free with those fake dreadlocks which come attached to a rasta hat. It’s So Easy to Be Creepy features banjos, toy pianos, and other hippy-related instruments plugging along with fairly good execution from the hired hands. Lead singer Pete Van Leeuwen attempts to make a mockery out of the whole deal with songs with titles like “Disease Parade” and “Menopause Graduate”. The song “Average Caucasian Blues” may be the biggest offender, with its wanna-be-Beck falsetto flavorings. The band has been testing the Lower East Side club circuit while splitting time between Brooklyn, New York, and Connecticut. They should pick a location first, then a musical style, maybe a new rehearsal space, and start over.
